The fact that digital, networked systems ensure excellent progress and pave the way towards Industry 4.0 has been proven by Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG has been a true expert in the supply of small parts to industrial customers for over 25 years. And this not only along the holistic supply of production and operating resources for around 20,000 customers, but also with one of the most modern logistics centers for industrial supply in Europe, the Würth Industrial Park. The C-Parts partner has now impressed in the "Digital Champions 2024" study by DEUTSCHLAND TEST and FOCUS MONEY and emerged as the industry winner in the "Building Materials & Construction Chemicals" category.
Success stories made in Germany: The Digital Champions Award impressively demonstrates which companies in the German industry are shaping the future of tomorrow in the face of advancing digitalisation and changing markets - with intelligent technologies and solutions across all areas of the company. In short: They offer exactly what is important in the age of Industry 4.0. But which factors are decisive for a successful change? The “Digital Champions 2024” study conducted by the Institute for Management & Economy Research (IMWF) on behalf of FOCUS MONEY and DEUTSCHLAND TEST addresses this question. Various parameters in the categories digitalisation, technology and innovation were analysed broadly and comprehensively for around 12,300 companies in the defined period from 1st January 2022 to 31st December 2023.

Hand in hand: progress through innovation
Innovative technologies in line with modern C-Parts management succeed hand in hand with own customers as well as with partners from science, trade and industry. The C-Parts partner’s ability to innovate is visible in its supply systems, which engage in high level of automation. In addition to the battery-operated iPLACER®, which uses RFID technology not only for the ordering process, but also for inventory management, the digital rack label iDISPLAY, which displays all information relating to items, filling quantity, availability, storage location and upcoming replenishments directly at the point of use, also ensures maximum productivity. An almost independent, logistical storage management for C-Parts can be achieved with iSCALE, a sensor-controlled scale that is directly connected to the Kanban bins and reports the requirements of production materials and other small parts based on weight. With iSCALE pal, weighing technology can now also be used for pallets. The company has been consistently focussing on progress for over 10 years with its intelligent ORSY®mat vending machines in the field of production-related MRO materials. For example, the ORSY®mat WGT detects the withdrawal of items through its integrated weighing cells. Currently, more than 20,000 customers are already using over 1,800 vending machines, more than 15,000 RFID solutions and more than 2 million Kanban bins.
The C-Parts partner is also continuously increasing its level of automation and digitalisation at the heart of the Würth Industrial Park, one of the most advanced logistics centres for industrial supply in Europe. Modern, fully automated high-bay and shuttle warehouses with a capacity of over 650,000 storage locations, 34 kilometres of conveyor technology, professional camera inspection systems, driverless transport systems and self-learning robots are used together with modern IT systems.
