Application examples

The initial reason for developing MZSH was problems of corrosion on slotted clamping pins and spring-loaded lock washers, e.g. tension washers. Below are two corrosion patterns that are repeatedly observed in conventional coating solutions in these areas, despite high corrosion resistances and the correct application of the coating.

Agricultural machinery

The MZSH mechanical galvanising not only passes the mandatory salt spray test according to DIN EN ISO 9227, but also reaches 7 cycles in the cyclic corrosion test according to DIN EN ISO 11997-1 cycle B (previously VDA 621-415) without forming red rust – assembled and thus after equally high mechanical preload. For comparison: Slotted clamping pin with conventional surface coating failed after only 3 cycles.

The phenomenal results in the cyclic corrosion test have been verified in practice under natural weather conditions.

A large manufacturer of agricultural machinery was able to resolve corrosion problems by using MZSH coating.

MZSH, which was originally developed as a solution for corrosion problems in slotted clamping pin and spring-loaded lock washers can, however, also be used for threaded fasteners. It is also possible to set a friction coefficient µGes of 0.12 – 0.18 in accordance with DIN EN ISO 16047.
